If you want to become a top seller on Amazon, you will need to put in quite a bit of work. And the key thing is to develop daily habits to help you keep going.
People are beings of habit. We can’t survive unless we have some kind of routine. The problem is most of us have an unproductive routine.
Reaching the top echelon of Amazon sellers requires daily commitments. Here are the most important things every top Amazon seller does on a daily basis.
Daily Habits of Top Amazon Sellers
1. Put in the Work
If you’re selling on Amazon as a side gig, that’s a whole different story. You can work as little as you like, or even skip a couple of days, or even weeks.
But if you want to become a top Amazon seller, then you must put in the work every single day. Without exception. This is the starting point of every top seller.
Mind you, this doesn’t mean you have to work yourself to exhaustion. But you need to allocate a certain number of hours every day in order to reach the top.
Set your working hours, make a schedule – and stick to it. For example, from 10AM to 4PM every work day. Or from 12AM to 6PM. Whatever works best for you.
It doesn’t really matter whether you’re mostly working mornings, afternoons or evenings. What’s important is that you put in the work and make no exceptions. This will enable you to lay the groundwork for reaching the top as an Amazon seller.
Although it might sound like a worn-out phrase, hard work is really the road to success. So, press on!
2. Learn Something New Every Day
Without growing and learning, there is no real improvement. Therefore, it’s extremely important to learn something new every single day.
It’s not enough to learn a couple of things every month. It needs to be a lot, lot more. Be sure to incorporate learning into your daily tasks.
There are many ways to learn something new pertaining to your Amazon store. First of all, be sure to visit customer forums.
Staying in touch with your customer base is of vital importance to your success. You need to follow the customers closely in order to know what they really want.
Also, be sure to catch up with your customers through social media. Reply to their messages, answer their complaints, read all of their comments.
This can be time-consuming, but it’s something your online store can’t go without. Your customers are your lifeline, no doubt about it.
Having a clear insight into what your customers want will open new doors for you. You will know which new product to include, what kind of special offer to create and what to remove what your Amazon store.
You also need to actively take part in all of it. Not just by reading the comments and customer reviews, but asking questions. Reach out to your customer base.
Ask them what they like and dislike, what they would like to see in the future. You will be amazed by how many of them answer back. This will give you the much-needed boost.
3. Do the Hard Tasks First
Unless you incorporate this one, you can completely forget about points 1 and 2. Arguably, this is one of the biggest challenges online sellers face. At it ends up costing them their future in the business.
Procrastination is a very dangerous thing, and it can completely destroy a business. The reason is simple: by putting off one thing, you automatically putt of another, and another, etc. It’s like a traffic jam.
And people usually put off the hardest thing on the list, rarely the easiest one. As a direct result of this, they have more work to do when they have less energy. And then, it’s usually too late to do any real work at all.
This is why you must develop the habit of doing the hardest thing right away, early on in the workday. It can be different things for different people.
Some people don’t enjoy making phone calls, others hate outsourcing the work and finding people to work with through online hiring platforms.
There are also many people who don’t enjoy going to their product listings on Amazon trying to perfect them. But here’s the news for you: all of these things need to get done. And there’s no point avoiding them.
So, make a list of all the things you need to do in a week – and highlight the hardest ones. You put those at the beginning of every workday, with the idea of doing them first.
By taking care of the hardest things first, when you have plenty of energy and when your stress level is low – you will be able to do everything in time.
And when you combine this point with points 1 and 2, and keep doing that, you will be on the way to becoming a top Amazon seller.
